Thing #1

I am loving my instructional technology class and learning about all the things I can do on the computer! I enjoyed setting up the blog and it was very simple to do. Many of my friends have blogs and I have been playing with the idea of setting one up to blog about being back in school as a non-traditional student at the age of 46. The seven and 1/2 habits were interesting and will be helpful in reminding me of the larger goal of becoming a teacher and reminding me not to get bogged down and forget to play! I plan on posting them on my vision board as a reminder of being a lifelong learner.

Thing #1-I would say # 6 has been the hardest learning habit for me. I have never had any formal instruction on the computer so I did not realize the many uses available for the classroom. Students learn in a very different environment than I did and technology has been the biggest change. I want to become confident, comfortable, and capable of creating interesting interactive sites for my students to use and learn ways in which technology can help create an interesting and fun environment for my students to learn in.

The easiest learning habit would be #4. When I made the decision to go back to college and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a teacher, my confidence level soared! I already felt confident in my abilities, but with each class I gained confidence and appreciated the opportunity of learning about things I would not have taken the time to learn on my own. From reading Gilgamesh to learning about diversity in a different light, all my experiences have opened my eyes with a new appreciation and love for learning!

  1. Hello, Maryalice!
It is so great that you are able to live your dream and make it a reality! You will be an amazing teacher and will help so many others along the way.
I thought my easiest habit was #6...but this 3040 assignment is really making me re-think that. If only I could stop procrastinating... I will tomorrow. ;)
    Have a great Spring Break!
