For this discovery I started by going to Image Chef. I clicked on Surfs Up and typed in my word, uploaded and saved to my desktop. It was very easy and quick to do.

I had a bit more trouble navigating through the Custom Sign Generator, but finally got the hang of it and created a magazine cover from one of the photos of my daughter's graduation. Both were fun to do and as with the mashups, can be addictive once you get to playing with them! To create the cover, you uploaded your photo first and then chose a template. Magazine covers, scrapbooking layouts, and many more templates were available to chose from. After choosing the cover, directions are given on how to upload the image to your blog or Facebook or any other number of sites. I chose to save and insert into my blog. http://graphics.imagetemplate.net/upload.asp
I could use these images when creating bulletin boards. For example, this year the CMCSS has established a goal of 100% graduation. At Open House, teachers were given graduation caps to decorate or wear and asked to display their high school and college diplomas to emphasize the goal. Creating magazine covers with student photos to display in the hall with student work would be a fun way to show parents the importance of supporting the goal of 100% graduation.
